A Decade of Impact and Innovation
Eric Bhatti's journey in tech spans more than ten years, during which he has worn many hats: engineer, product developer, growth hacker, and startup founder. His experience in scaling companies across traveltech, proptech, and mobility sectors has made him a versatile force in the tech landscape.

Before joining Upsite, Eric has helped build and scale companies across multiple sectors, leading tech and product, unlocking product-led growth in the Middle East, Hong Kong, Canada and Pakistan. A Google Developer Expert for Firebase, Eric is a strong advocate for community knowledge-sharing, with active contributions on Stack Overflow and GitHub.

Meeting Kajal and the Road to Upsite
Eric’s path to Upsite began with a connection through Opus, where he met our co-founder Kajal. What started as a conversation about shared values and the future of economic development quickly evolved into a strong alignment around a big idea: revolutionizing how businesses interact with public sector incentives to drive expansion.

Engineering at the Frontier of Economic Development
Since joining Upsite, Eric has been at the helm of making sense of a complex and fragmented incentive landscape. With over 2,400 data points across all U.S. state incentive programs, the challenge is anything but simple. Programs are heterogeneous, inconsistently documented, and vary drastically in eligibility and impact.

Yet, this complexity is where Eric thrives. Under his leadership, the engineering team has begun normalizing disparate data sources, uncovering real insights into how incentives can effectively offset expansion costs. It’s a foundational step toward building a platform that is not only scalable but truly transformative for how companies approach location decisions.

Looking Ahead: Building the Expansion Marketplace
The journey doesn’t stop with data. Eric and his team are now focused on building a robust self-service platform that allows companies to explore, understand, and leverage location-based incentives with ease. From there, Upsite plans to unlock even more value by enabling matchmaking between companies and state governments—ultimately paving the way for the first agent-led B2G (business-to-government) expansion marketplace.
